RO2: Gameplay & Systems

A quick tib-bit of what to expect with RO2: Legend of the Second....

RO2: Legend of the Second - offers everything RO1 DOES and MORE with a favor from the first RO2! With faster Updates, and the ability to hold up to approx. 20k players at once. WoE, PVP, Party Systems, and a ton more will be available on official lunch too!

*Please Note: all information may still vary upon it's official release, due to it being still under development. Thank You!

One thing I want to get into is the gameplay aspects & systems.

  • In Regards to camera angles New players who enjoyed the Original RO2[Version 1] - will be able to change to the view of the camera to Mode 2. In mode 2, players will be able to get a up close and personal view of things just like RO2[version1] had to offer.
  • World Map, yes it's back, but this time...unwritten. Players will reveal the world map as they explore new areas. Dungeon Maps will also be available to players to collect and write up.
  • A system from RO2[Version1] is coming back, which is the Quest system for finding a certain NPC. I'm only stating this incase some RO1 players never got a chance to see it. Your Mini-Map and physical view of the NPC would show a marking of where or Who you need to talk to.
  • One of the features that is being build is for the skills, this will make the skills much easier to learn, while you'll have an option to toggle on and off TILE ranges of your selected skill. Perfect example is during the use of doing Magma Break players will be able to see a transparent tile range of it's impact range.
  • Another system players will be able to enjoy is Flight. Some areas will only be able to be accessible through Hot Air Balloons. You'll get to see the vast world of Rune Midgard as you fly high above towns. Sometimes Gargoyles or other various mobs will attack you based on the area your flying above...Don't worry though, airships and warping are still around, just take note there isn't just 1 or 2 ways of traveling to vast locations anymore.
  • Card systems are Back, and bigger and better ever before! I'm sure everyone is wondering if they can removed finally, and the answer is YES. In addition, cards can become Upgraded, Trimmed, and be Gambled with. A simple poring card now and days will become a valued marked in the vender's shop. hehe.
  • Building Camps is another new feature that is being developed. Players can build a tent out in wild to restore their party's status, and give them a Save point outside of town for a period of time. Not to mention players can use it as a extra group storage while hunting. But watch out! These are able to be torn down by wild mobs...so it's advisable to keep your fire out at night. So in short, the camp you set up will have a it's own HP base.
  • The final system i'll go over today are Telescopes. Certain players, and Guild leaders will be rewarded with telescopes to help aid them on the battlefield. Not to mention these will come in handy when looking for various places, monsters, or friends. These will come in most handiest to Guild Leaders as they advise their teammates through another guilds territory. There are many different types of telescopes as they require a special lens, mirror, and cases. These can be upgraded as well to give you an even better experience.

Wow!! This is amazing!!!
Landscape Screeneis galore from up in a hot air baloon!!! ^__^

So thsi emans teh camera will be birds eye normally and then will zoom in when swapping modes? sounds very zeldaish.

World Map, yes it's back, but this time...unwritten. Players will reveal the world map as they explore new areas. Dungeon Maps will also be available to players to collect and write up.

This is great!! Promotes Exploration! ^_~

The author of the blog, Chris Ruiz, is a Certified Developer & Artist under Gravity and Level-Up! Games. Any information he provides in his blog post he gets directly from the source, Gravity.

He has also stated, many times, that the information he provides can be subject to change as the game is still in development.
